The Macbeth Curse is Real

Those who have studied Shakespeare's Macbeth have long been cautioned to refer to it as "The Scottish Play" in hopes of avoiding the alleged curse that comes with producing this iconic play. Alas! The legendary curse seems to have befallen RMPC as one week before opening, an essential member of our creative team had to leave the show for personal reasons. We respect their decision and stand by our company values, which include supporting the well-being of our artists and maintaining artistic excellence. To that end, we have made the heart-wrenching decision to postpone our production of The Macbeths to the fall of 2025. We are so grateful for the support of our artistic team, board, and audience, who have all shown unwavering support for this decision. Those who have already purchased tickets for the run will have the option for a refund, a transfer of the ticket to our 6/13 Cursed Conversation and Celebration (see below), or to donate their ticket costs in support of our mission to bring women center stage.

To honor, celebrate, and toast the work we’ve put into The Macbeths thus far, we are hosting a “Cursed Conversation” on what would have been our opening night on Friday, June 13th, at the Center for the Performing Arts (3754 Pleasant Ave / Minneapolis 55409). Get a sneak peek of some of the sounds, scenes, and inspirations behind the production, enjoy some refreshments, and raise a toast to respecting theater superstitions (we are now believers)!
